Your administrator can enable enhanced accessibility by configuring the iManageEnhancedAccessibility setting to Y in the imWorkOptions.xml configuration file. This is used to activate functions that work around circumstances when JAWS cannot read iManage Work UI components. For more information, contact your administrator or refer to the imWorkOptions.xml section in the iManage Work Desktop for Windows Customization Guide

With this option enabled, ensure that you press the TAB key to enable JAWS to read the text displayed in a iManage dialog boxes and to navigate through the iManage dialog boxes.

NOTE:

If you want the JAWS screen reader to read your mouse hover actions, enable the Mouse Echo option available in JAWS.

You can also use the keyboard alternatives for mouse clicks on ribbons, iManage panels, dialog boxes and menus. Refer to the following sections for more information:

NOTE:

The specific shortcuts designation for Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Outlook ribbon bars may vary based on the:

  • Version of Microsoft applications installed.
  • Microsoft features or configurations selected.
  • Other integrated products installed.
  • Language set for these applications.

IMPORTANT:

We recommend to not enable enhanced accessibility unless you have users who use JAWS screen reader to read the UI components. This is because with this option enabled, static text fields and other controls that are normally not part of tab order when using the TAB key are enabled as tab stops for JAWS to vocalize the text. In addition, additional Windows notifications are generated when filing emails. This is to enable JAWS to vocalize the email filing progress dialog box that is displayed during the filing process. Hence, users who do not use JAWS will have to perform extra keyboard strokes to complete some actions.
