In records management, a legal hold prevents any destruction schedules applied to a workspace, folder, or sub-folder from being processed. Holds can be placed on individual folders or multiple folders. Similarly, you can apply multiple holds to folders.

When you apply holds, only the destruction schedules applied aren't processed. However, this doesn't prevent documents from being declared as records.
