Your scanner maintains a file named data.irmbarcode.txt that stores all the information to be processed from the scanner.

When you install the RM desktop client software on a machine, the installation creates a BarcodeConfig.xml file in the C:\Program Files\iManage\Records Manager\Desktop Client\Config directory.

The BarcodeConfig.xml file contains the following parameters that store the device name and the path to the data.irmbarcode.txt file, that is, the storage location where the iManage folder is located on the handheld scanner:

   The Barcode Scanner Operations module uses the updated settings after restart.

The name of your device given here is the name to be used in Step 3 below.

2. Locate the following section of the BarcodeConfig.xml file:
