Support for additional Docusign signature fields

iManage E-signature now supports two additional Docusign signature fields: Date Signed and Text. Along with the existing Signature and Initials fields, these four fields are recognized as signing activity. When a signatory completes any of these fields and selects Finish, E-signature records their signing activity and displays the full signing timeline for the document.

E-signing of documents using Adobe Acrobat Sign

In addition to Docusign, iManage Work E-signature now supports electronic signatures for documents through Adobe Acrobat Sign. The documents are sent for signing from iManage Work, so you don’t have to download a copy of the documents to your local system. All the details of documents related to signing, such as the date sent, status, the signed document copy, and Audit Report can be viewed from the E-signature dashboard, which is a part of the iManage Work secure platform.

NOTES:

  • To use iManage Work E-signature with Adobe Acrobat Sign, you need an Acrobat Sign Solutions license. The integration doesn’t work with Acrobat Sign access bundled with Acrobat Pro/Studio plans. For more information, go to https://business.adobe.com/products/sign-solutions.html.

  • Currently, sending documents for signing is supported only for individuals with the Signer and Approver recipient roles in Adobe Sign; sending to groups isn't supported.

Saving signed and filed document as new version of original document

While sending documents for signing through Docusign, you can choose to save signed and filed documents as new versions of the original documents.

NOTE: By default, the New document option is selected while sending documents for signature through Docusign. Select New version of original to use this feature.

The signed document has the:

  • Same file name as the document that was sent for signing, incremented version number, and a comment that it’s a Signed copy of v<version number of document sent for signing>.

  • Same security settings and metadata as the version that was sent for signing.

Additionally, you can use the Save signed document as new version on the context menu for the document row in the E-signature dashboard to save the signed document as a new version whenever needed.

For more information, refer to Automatic filing of signed document to iManage Work.

Certificate of Completion now inherits security from its parent

If the Inherit Security From Parent Folder option is selected for the iManage Work folder in which the Certificate of Completion is uploaded, the security of the certificate is same as that of the parent from which the folder inherited its security. For more information, refer to Accessing Certificate of Completion.

Previously, if the Inherit Security From Parent Folder option was selected for the iManage Work folder where the Certificate of Completion was uploaded, the security of the certificate was set to Private and only the person who created the envelope had access to the certificate.

Saving documents without signatures to iManage Work

In certain scenarios, an envelope/package in DocuSign may contain multiple documents, out of which only one or a few need to be signed, while some documents may require the signatories to add markers other than their signature or initial, such as a date. iManage E-signature now does the following for each such completed yet non-signed document in the envelope:

  • Changes the status to Signed but the Signed/Signatures column displays 0/0.

  • Uploads the completed document and Certificate of Completion to iManage Work.

Previously, only documents with signatures were saved to iManage Work.
