The application helps you to manage physical records stored within a file plan.

A file part is an elemental component of the file plan. It can be scheduled using a retention policy. It represents a record container within a matter, which can contain other file parts. File parts are categorized by their media type (jacket, insert, document, and so on).

The New File Part and New File Part Using Template options are available at the top level of the file plan. You don't need to browse into a client and matter to create file parts. Using the New File Part and New File Part from Template dialog boxes, you can specify the client and matter in which you want to create the file part.

You can create batches of multiple file parts. Each file part is created using the information entered in the New File Part and New File Part from Template dialog boxes. You can also create a single-file part, and keep the dialog box open to continue creating additional file parts. For example, after adding a series of inserts into a jacket, you can create another jacket and add inserts into it.
