Maintenance Mode in iManage Threat Manager pauses data ingestion from iManage Work databases, letting you perform system maintenance, reconfigure libraries, or manage initial provisioning without disrupting operations. This feature is available for both on-premises (appliance) and cloud (service deployments, with some differences noted below.

When Maintenance Mode is On, data ingestion pauses, a global notification is displayed in the interface, and daily email notifications are sent to specified recipients. When Maintenance Mode is Off, data ingestion continues without interruption. When you turn Maintenance Mode back off, ingestion restarts.

(On-premises) Maintenance Mode is Off by default when you first start your iManage Threat Manager appliance.

In this section:

When to use Maintenance Mode

Enable Maintenance Mode in the following scenarios:

  • Initial provisioning: Enable before adding databases to prevent polling of the Production SQL Server during business hours. Disable outside peak hours to start polling.

  • SQL Server maintenance: Enable before a planned SQL Server or iManage Work Server maintenance window. Disable when complete.

  • Library management: Enable when adding, removing, or reconfiguring iManage Work libraries to avoid data ingestion conflicts. Disable when complete.

  • (On-premises) Appliance upgrade: Enable during migration to a new appliance. Maintenance Mode turns off automatically when migration completes. To check upgrade status, go to Settings > Status and check the Migration Tasks service.
