iManage integrates with Microsoft Office to enable you to easily save new documents to and open documents from iManage by displaying iManage dialog boxes when you perform the open or save operations in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. If you want to retain the native application behavior instead, you can enable passive mode. If passive mode is enabled, the native save or open options in the application are displayed instead of iManage dialog boxes when you:
Use keyboard shortcuts to save a new document or to open a local document
Select File > Save, Save As, or Open
Try to close a new document without saving it
You can enable and disable passive mode without restarting the application by changing the value of the PassiveMode configuration. For more information, refer to the imWorkOptions.xml section in iManage Work Desktop for Windows Customization Guide.
